Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT! It's our Home Sweet Home photo inspiration and I just LOVE the photo this time -there's so much to be inspired by! I went with the color palette and earthy, natural feel and texture. I'm normally a very, very slow card maker but this card came together in 5 minutes... I had previously cut the burlap paper (DCWV) to size and heat embossed the Finnish Christmas sentiment with white powder on vellum... I also had some die cuts I've got as a gift from Loll on my desk and before I knew it, this little card was all ready! I'm quite pleased how this turned out. Yay! Magically, when adhering the doily's edge just where the edge of the vellum is, you can't see any border or overlapping -it looks very pretty and neat.
I hope you will be as inspired by our inspiration photo as I was! We have lots of beautiful DT inspiration in our challenge blog so do head on over there... And don't forget to visit our guest designer Toni -I love the pinecone card she made, you don't want to miss it! After some internet surfing... take TIME OUT and join us! :)

Thanks to Shauna's suggestion I'm entering my card to Mod Squad Challenge: Doilies. Thanks Shauna! :)
The background of burlap is really different and picks up the natural feel of the photo. How fab that this came together so quickly, it would have taken me forever!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card!!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteGrtz Janette
Oh I love the texture that the burlap and doily add to the card Nonni. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou're the poster girl for doily cards, Nonni! I love the layout and I wouldn't have thought to use vellum, doilies, diecuts, button, and burlap all in one card (I'd be on layer/element panic/overload) -- only you can manage to do that and pull it off so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI just saw a challenge yesterday that was all about doilies..its the Mod Squad Challenge, this would be perfect! Love the burlap, haven't used that on a card before and certainly gives it that rustic/natural feel. Brilliant card!!
ReplyDeleteI love that burlap background, Nonni! Such a beautiful design with all of the elements perfectly combined :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect combination of elements from burlap to doily to that intricate die cut :) simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteShona thanks for telling Nonni all about the Challenge I am Hosting at The Mod Squad Blog, her card is perfect for it! I love how your flower and doily mimic each other and the rustic flavor of it. The button and burlap add such wonderful texture. Thanks for joining in the FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Nonni. Great mix of elegance and rustic with your pretty white bloom, doily and vellum next to the burlap ... just like the picture has the elegant sofa and rustic tables. Fabulous interpretation of the inspiration photo! Loll xx
ReplyDeleteNonni, you've captured the rustic, warm feeling of the inspiration so brilliantly ... all the lovely texture-y elements are beautifully combined! Anita :)
