Springtime Flowers / TIME OUT Challenge Reminder

Hi friends!

A quick reminder of our current challenge at TIME OUT where we are CASEing Marjan's card (below). Check the challenge blog for all the details!

In my card I've used flowers stamps by Uniko Studio and also used an embossing folder called "rock" to the lower part of the card (this idea comes from my good friend Sandie who I just spend 3 great days with!) . I stamped the flowers with light colored DI and then colored a base layer with Copic markers, then used Intense pencils for added interest. This was the first time that I dared to blog a card with these kind of flowers -I've been super intimidated with this coloring technique! Marika from Me and Minime Crafting has several amazing tutorial videos on this if you'd like to give this style a go.

Photo Inspiration at TIME OUT Challenges!

It's time for the first TIME OUT Challenge of 2015!We are beginning with an extra special Home Sweet Home photo inspiration: Uniko Studios sponsors our challenge with two prizes! One 15 £ voucher is drawn between all the entrants of our challenge and another 15 £ voucher is drawn between all of you who leave a comment on Uniko blog during our challenge. Chrissie is a talented, inspirational card maker -do visit her blog and leave her some love! 

My inspiration from the photo is pretty obvious: I picked the wooden bg, chose orange from one of the pillows and went for floral theme. The sentiment is of course inspired of the photo too! The flower stamp I used is from an Uniko set called Pure Florals: Chrysantenium. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations, you'll find it here . I stamped the flower on a die cut tag (thanks again, Sarah!!) and colored it with Copics. The background is patterned paper. A very simple card!

Congratulations Bev! Double the Joy at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!

Our TIME OUT Design Team member Bev gave birth to two super cute twin boys about two weeks ago, congratulations Bev! We are celebrating this special occasion at TIME OUT with an extra challenge starting right now. :) The challenge will run for a fortnight and the theme is 

Double the Joy

We hope we have been able to give Bev a big surprise with this challenge and that she'll enjoy the cards the DT has made for her... And maybe you'd like to join in the challenge and congratulate her also? The winner of the challenge (chosen with random.org) will win a £20 coupon to Bev's stamp store Uniko Studio.

In my card I've used Uniko Studio stamps, the set in question is called Pure Florals: Chrysanteum. I've colored the masked, stamped images in with Copics and that's all there is to mention about this card: no embellies, nothing! I was happy with how the flower corner looked liked and decided nothing else was needed. Since I used three colours and left plenty of white space I hope this will work for CASology: Three. There are layers yes but they seemed to fit the sort of traditional look of this card. Please remove my card if it's not CAS enough! :)

Best Wishes for Marie

Hi guys!
Here's a card I've made for Marie. She is a DT member at Addicted to CAS and was one of the original DT members at Addicted to Stamps and More where I've also had the honor to be part of the team: last spring I unfortunately had to cut down some of my DT work for time management purposes. I heard from ATSM owner Kylie that Marie is going through a rough time and that the current ATSM Anything Goes challenge has an optional twist with Get Well/ Thinking of You... So of course I want to take part and hopefully cheer Marie up a bit. All my best wishes for you, Marie!

In my card I'm using beautiful stamps from Uniko Studio that I got as birthday present from lovely Sandie. This is great set, I love the big size of the flowers, and I'm sure I'll use this often. Thanks Sandie! I'm very into blue at the moment so I chose a monochrome blue color palette. I also find that blue is very calming and comforting -I hope Marie likes it also. In addition to stamping I did some stenciling and inking... And that's how this simple card came together. I hope you like your card Marie and that we here all around blogland have been able to bring joy to your day. Hugs!

Clean and Simple at Inkspirational!

Time for a new Inkspirational Challenge! It's a favorite of many and maybe a bit intimidating for some of you: Clean and Simple. If you haven't gone CAS before, have a look at the DT inspiration at the challenge blog -those fab cards will surely give you some ideas! We have a guest designer too, Sue: she makes BEAUTIFUL clean and simple cards so do check out her blog many ideas.

In my card I've used stamps from Uniko Studio. I was also inspired of the colors of the current Uniko Challenge (see photo below). This is an unusual color combo for me and I really like it! I've colored the flowers in with Copics but in a very simple, fast way -no blending or anything, I just used two markers and that's it. I cut the panel to four pieces for added interest. Small rhinestones complete the card. The colors are really lovely IRL, I wish the sun had been out when I took the photo so you'd get to see them better, the photo is a bit dull! Masculine Thank You Card

Hi friends!
Here's my card for the current Less Is More Challenge: One Layer Thank You. I'm happy that I had time to join in the fun after a couple of weeks of break! The theme was perfect for me -I needed a thank you card for one of my brother-in laws. Being a tailor he is very handy with the sewing machine... And he recently altered a second-hand dress for me. The dress is perfect now so obviously a cool card was needed! I used Background Builders: Squared by Uniko Studio for stamping the pattern. I did a test run free hand but that didn't work -I needed to draw in some pencil lines so it was easier to line up the squares. Luckily a rubber is invented! :) That's all from me for now.
