Dusk Blue Card

Hi friends!
Another card inspired by Jackie Rockwell's color challenges -this time my card is for Dusk Blue Challenge. This kind of blue is not one of favorites but I have friends who like it so it'll e easy to give this card to one of them. I'm also liking the result surprisingly much -maybe it's the edgy black that makes the blue look more to my taste! My layout comes from  Clean and Simple stamping and I looooove it -I'm sure I'll use it again. How about my adorable birds? I was lucky to win these Lawn Farm stamps from Emily's blog candy, thank you so much Emily! Emily makes beautiful, fun cards with stunning coloring, I hope you'll pay her a visit.

I'm trying to learn how to photograph my CAS cards standing up, without my card stand... I'm loving the look of that style of photos but I tend to end up with crooked photos myself when I try it. This one looks a bit weird too, like it would be bending inwards although IRL it's not... And the focus is a bit blurry too. If you guys have good hints for taking the photos, I'd be really happy to hear them! That's all from me for now, if everything goes as planned I'll have little something to show for you tomorrow and then, on Wednesday, it's time for Addicted to Stamps and More again. I'll have a friend visiting from Wed to Sat so the end of the week might be a bit quieter here... But let's see! Enjoy your week everyone!

  1. Nonni your dusk blue card is as sweet as can be. I really love how you added 2 pearls to the left and just on to the right of the sentiment. Thanks for playing along in another one of my color challenges.

Try taking your photos straight on and level with your card and table. I like to turn my card just a tiny bit to the right. My photos still turn out crooked sometimes because I don't use a tripod. I have to straighten them in my photo editing software. Hope that helps.

  4. wow Nonni, you are becoming a CAS perfectionist! I think this is stunning and I love the score lines.
I was told to take photos with a light background-so if I place them on a card card with white card behind them-or I use cream if that works better-it does if the your card base is white. And I read some photography tips and one really useful one was that if you want to be able to see embossing (like when I use my linen embossing folder) the light needs to come from the side-it really does work! I place my card against a wall when the when the sun is coming in from the window on the right side of the card-the embossing is really highlighted-even if it is subtle. You can use a light box but I have been told it is very big and you can do with out it. If you look on my pinterest board-there is a DIY version of this. Haven'r made it myself but have a feeling you would be able to do this!
