Anything Goes at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Anything Goes, everyone's favorite, that's our theme this week at Addicted to Stamps and More! I decided to practice on my CAS skills since I think that's my weakest style in card making -mainly because I keep adding stuff and there goes the CAS style! :) ATSM has a sister blog, Addicted to CAS, their theme this week is glitter so I decided that glitter is what I need!

I started with masking the square with post-its, sponging the area with two shades of Distress Inks and giving it a mist of Fuzzy Navel Peach Stardust spray. I keep forgetting that I have these sprays and it's a pity -they give a really beautiful shine! After my square was dry I removed the post-its and stamped the Hero Arts chandelier with black Versafine, embossed it with sticky embossing powder and poured black glitter on top of it when the powder was hot. I think the chandelier looks stunning and the glittery effect is amazing but I can also tell you that I had to vacuum my craft-room afterwards... I ended up having the black glitter everywhere! It was also quite difficult to get the excess glitter out of the card although I had used an embossing buddy before starting, just to warn you off if you want to try the technique. :) To finish off the card I stamped the LOTV sentiment with my two DI:s -it's not completely straight but I decided not to mind. I'm trying to learn how to be merciful with small mistakes. :)

Birthday Party at Tuesday Throwdown!

Hi friends,
do you agree with me that she is dressed for a party?!? You are looking at Lovely from Saturated Canary, they are generously sponsoring our challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown. I hope you'll feel like making a birthday card and joining us! I left the sentiment out since to me it was so obvious that she is going to a party. :) I really enjoyed coloring her with my Copics -it took some time and many practice versions though. I noticed that in coloring this type of hair (for me) it was better to have a bit more contrast between the marker number codes and not have the ones that are exactly next to each other. I believe I used E57, E33 and E31 or E30 (can't remember anymore!) -normally I would have used E57, E35, E33, E31, E30.

Time for Dinner!

It's the 5th Monday of the month so in the House of Cards Challenge we have a photo inspiration for you. This week you don't have to follow a specified card making style, your card can represent what ever style you wish, any card making style will do! Normally we give you a style to follow every week: Fun & Cute, Clean & Simple, Classic & Elegant or Vintage& Shabby. But as this is the 5th week of the month, you can choose your favorite style, yay!

Me, being in the Fun & Cute DT, have made my card to represent that style. At first I had hard time figuring out how to turn this photo of a classy dining room into something funny, but then it hit me... Dining room needs dinner and my Henry the Mouse from WOJ has just done some grocery shopping! This is my favorite Henry stamp -I just love that look on his face. I colored the image with Copics and searched for cute papers with orange hues. The sketch is an old sketch from Deconsturcted Sketches, I really love it. Two Butterfly Cards for Jackie Rockwell's Challenges

Jackie Rockwell from Rockwell Designs is having a really fun color challenge -or 10 color challenges actually! Sure Was Good!

As my regular visitors and followers maybe remember, I recently started in a design team of House of Cards. HOC is a very fun and a bit different challenge, this is what the blog owners tell us about the concept:

Here is how our challenge blog works--we will have a monthly color palette or sketch and then each week we'd like to see a different card making style using those parameters.  If there is a 5th Monday in the month, we will have a photo inspiration and you can create using any card making style you'd like!  We'll also have a super fun photo inspiration challenge/blog hop that will happen at the beginning of December 2013.  The challenge will run from December 1st through December 15th and will also be a blog hop with a chance to win a prize package.  If at that point you feel so inclined, we'd love to have you enter our DT call that will be running at the same time!

The different card making styles are Fun & Cute (my DT group!), Clean & Simple, Classic and Elegant + this weeks style, Vintage & Shabby. The inspiration photo is seen below my card -I used two reds, the greyish white + blue as my accent color. The sweet vintage image is from Nicecrane -if I remember right, the collage sheet set is called "Born To Be Wild". Totally cute!

My sketch inspiration comes from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge -I altered it a bit so I totally understand if I'm removed from the linky -I just had to leave the whole doily to the card, I couldn't cut part of it off! :) That's it from me now, I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for popping by!

Photo Inspiration at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Hello friends,
time for another great challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! This week we are having fun being inspired by a picture, seen above. I didn't have any candle-related stamps so I had to think a bit with this one! For a moment I thought I would make a CAS card with rows of flowers but in the end I went to a completely different direction with stamped vintage image and sponged background. I'm pretty certain I saw a similar card in a quite recent Craft Stamper issue but I'm not completely sure! :)  The colors are inspired by the picture and so is the sentiment. I used glossy cardstock in my card -it made the sponging a bit difficult but the colors are glowing beautifully -I used Adirondrack inks this time. I wanted to make a CAS card for a change and was inspired by CAS layout I saw at the latest Craft Stamper Magazine. I just love that mag and always wait anxiously for the newest publication! I was also inspired by the numbers challenge at CAS-ual Fridays -it made me remember the "measuring washi tape" I have. I'll take part in some other fantastic challenges too -please see the whole list in the end of this post!

Playful Kittens!

It's a release day at Sami Stamps, Sami's newest release is called Playful Kittens and I'm sure you'll agree with me -these images are precious! Addicted to CAS!

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More, it's the favorite of many, CAS! My card is so simple that in my opinion, it's a bit boring! :) Maybe the main reason why I don't like it is the messed up text -I highlighted both the swirl and sentiment with white gel pen but messed up the sentiment, buhuu... I didn't have time to make a new card but I think I'll some day make a remake with maybe two swirls and sentiment without highlighting. Better luck next time!

Anything Goes at Tuesday Throwdown!

We have a new challenge for you at Tuesday Throwdown and this time it's everyone's favorite, Anything Goes! My Grafico is sponsoring us this week and we DT members got to work with their joyful, sea-themed images. The colors in my card are created with various Distress Inks, no Copics in this card! After printing the crab, seaweeds and corals I sponged them with inks and fussy cut them all. Quite a lot of cutting... But the result is quite cute! The sea background is also done by sponging blue Distress Inks to a card and then I did some stamping with bubble wrap for more texture. The waves are a gift from a stamping friend and finish the card off nicely. I hope you'll join us this week at Tuesday Throwdown!

Layer It Up!

Hi dear friends in blogland,
time for new Digi Sketch Challenge! We have a fun theme, "Layer It up" and as always we have a sketch for you too. Color Inspiration at Addicted To Stamps And More!

Here's my DT card for the new challenge at Addicted To Stamps And More! This week we are enjoying of this beautiful color combination you see above -you don't have to use these exact Stamping Up colors, something similar will do!

I inked up a Stamp It Australia-stamp I once won in a challenge -I've not used it before and I'm glad I remembered it now -it's beautiful! I stamped the image with DI Walnut Stain and embossed with the corresponding DI embossing powder. I went through my stash for good papers for the color scheme and voila -this card came together really easily! :)

Fabulous Summer Day!

Hiya!
Here's a little card I made for the many summer-themed challenges around at the moment. Some time ago I bought several Mo Manning images and this is the first time I colored in this cutie with her strawberries, isn't she lovely! My color inspiration comes from Without Words Challenge -I was over the moon being their last month's winner with my You Rock-card, woot woot!  I colored my image once again with Copics and was really happy with the hair color I came up with: E07, YR14 and Y12. Note to self: I have to get more markers with skin tones for making the skin coloring more easy... I have E00 and E21 now -I definitely need something else too. Curious Things!

Time for new release at Sami Stamps! Since it's the first Friday of month, there's a challenge to go with the release -this time it's a super cool one: "Add Something Curious" to your project. This can be interpreted in many different ways - You can add an out of place color, a pop up, a fun embellishment or object, etc. I'm working with Sami's new image called Curious Butterfly -it's part of the new release and an Alice in Wonderland-themed image. I have two curious things in my card: the clock as an embellishment -that refers to the story- and the hidden greeting tag. The sentiment in my tag says: "We are all stories, unfolding day by day -enjoy your next chapter, happy birthday!". Check out what Chaitali and Anat from the DT have made -you'll love their projects! I colored this beautiful ADFD Vintage Freebie with Copics and created a vintage-card -vintage is one of my favorite styles. First Challenge At House Of Cards, Yayyy! :)

Time for first ever House Of Cards Challenge! House of Cards is a new type of challenge blog that inspires you to make cards in 4 different card making styles:

I am proud to be in the Fun & Cute design team, yay! We always have a monthly color palette or sketch and then each week we'd like to see a different card making style using those parameters. So, on to the first challenge and my card: as you see we have a color palette for inspiration. I colored the darling Tiddly Inks Wryn (it's a freebie at Tiddly Inks blog here) with Copics and found matching papers from my stash. I love collage type cards with funky layouts but I have hard time figuring out that kind of layouts myself -this time I used a layout meant for scrapbooking and had really fun!
