Thank You Card with Stenciling, Stamping and Heat Embossing

Hi guys,
a quick post to share a card I made for the current CAS Mix Up Card Challenge. The challenge is closing soon so I though I better hurry up getting this posted! I used a large flower stencil by sponging inks and stamping through it. I then added more sponging to the card base + went a bit crazy adding white dots with gel pen... There's quite many of them. :) This was originally going to be a one layer but after messing up my sentiment straight to the card base I ended up adding a strip of dark red card with a heat embossed sentiment. I actually like this look better than the one layer look I created first so I'm happy I made the boo boo! Have a good weekend everyone and thanks for popping by. Oh and Kiitos is Finnish for Thank You. :)

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

Here's my DT card for the latest Inspirational Challenge

Vehicles

This theme was chosen by DT member Carol -if you don't know her blog Just Me C, don't hesitate to click here!

I was a bit troubled with this challenge at first but then my crafty friend Milla came to rescue and borrowed me these fun stamps, perfect for a card for my 1,5 years old godson. He has a yellow car toy he likes so that defined the colors of the car... And then I just tried to go for fun, bold colors for the rest of the card. I used Copics for coloring this scene I created with 2 individual stamps and masking. I also wrote the boy's name to the roof of the car -in the stamp it says "on duty" but I cleaned that off from the stamp after inking (didn't manage to do it perfectly though, there's some y left!). His name "Onni" means happiness in Finnish, it's actually a very popular name in my country."Kevätterkut" means Spring Wishes.

If you need more ideas for what you could make please head on over to the challenge blog where our DT along with our talented guest designer Tanja will give you lots of ideas!

Card for a Baby Girl!

Hi everyone!
I needed a card to congratulate new parents for their baby girl. I'm not a big fan of making baby cards, I don't love baby pink or baby blue and although I love cute animal stamps and doodle style floral stamps I don't really like the over the top super duper cute images people are supposed to use in baby cards... Luckily or me this couple with the newborn girl lives in Lapland and loves nature so I though a small cute critter might do the trick... And I think this turned out quite cute. I embellished the fox from Lawn Fawn with a die cut bow (we are after all celebrating, aren't we!) and because foxes (at least) in Finland have a white belly I altered the stamped image a bit drawing one more black outline and leaving extra white. I sponged the bg behind my fox and made the card base to match by sponging that with same inks too. The stitched curve is cut with a SSS die. I also like the look of the textured card base. Hope you like too! Thanks for popping by!

I chose patterned paper, stamp and something shiny (that would be the pearl!)

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT:

Celebrations With the Optional Twist of Die Cutting/ Fussy Cutting

I used my Copics for coloring in some cute die cut Paper Smooches flowers I received as a gift from my crafting buddy Milla. I added white gel pen for accents and chose to heat emboss my sentiment with white for coherent look. The card base is embossed with a "zebra stripes" folder that I think adds great interest to a simple base. Hope you like!

CASual Fridays Stamps is generously sponsoring us: one random "twister" will receive a 25 $ gift voucher to their store.

Now it's your turn to take TIME OUT and craft! Do visit our challenge blog to have a look what rest of the DT members and our talented guest designer Elizabeth have created for your inspiration. Happy crafting!

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT! It's a wonderful Home Sweet Home Photo Inspiration, have a look:

We are very happy to have Happy Little Stampers sponsoring us and Kylie, the owner and designer of Happy Little Stampers is joining us as our Special Guest Designer! In addition to Kylie, a German paper crafter Elisabeth who won our challenge #51 is joining us as Guest Designer as well. Great to have these two talented ladies at TIME OUT! The winner of this challenge will receive a 15 $ voucher to Happy Little Stampers.

In my card I've used stamps by Happy Little Stampers. I've stamped the flowers on watercolor cardstock but ended up doing minimal watercoloring: I was testing a new cardstock and did NOT like the way it behaved. :) So... This turned out rather minimalistic if you compare the look of my card to the photo of the dresser. My original idea was to color in all the flowers with different colors and even make a blue bg... But no! Could NOT make that work! :) I hope you like my card anyway... And please have a look at the challenge blog and all the DT inspiration there! Happy crafting!

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new, very inspirational challenge for you at TIME OUT!
We are Inspired by Words:

'A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water'
 Eleanor Roosevelt

I chose to be inspired by the whole phrase but you could choose just tea, woman or water for example. Head on over to the challenge blog to check out the amazing samples by out DT and Guest Designer Elaine who I'm sure many of you know from her blog Craft E-Place. Fun blog filled with pretty cards!

I chose to work with the sentiment "I believe in you" and made this as an encouragement card for some woman whose strength is about to be tested in a difficult situation. :) Girls like flowers don't they (at least I do!) so this became a floral card with my all time favorite flower stamp set by PTI. This set and Altenew's Hennah Flowers are constantly fighting to be my number one choice when it comes to creating cards with flowers. :) Anyway, I did some simple Copic coloring and used white gel pen for the flowers too. I also used a Prima background stamp that is becoming a new favorite as well. I predict you'll be seeing a lot of these small dots in future! I used a very pale blue ink so the bg might be hard to see in the photo but take my word that it looks nice IRL. :)

Please join us in the fun. This time our challenge only lasts for ONE WEEK so don't hesitate, take some TIME OUT and craft!
